This can be designed for any type of occasion to provide either a formal or informal ambience. This can range from a gentle background that might be essential for a special business or personal event to an intense presence required for a sit-down concert. --- The repertoire consists of the enduring tunes of the 1920s through ?50s, many by such master jazz composers as Cole Porter, the Gershwins and A. C. Jobim, who came to prominence with Stan Getz in the ?60s as the leading Latin jazz composer. When suitable, tunes from the progressive Bebop and Post-bop eras of the ?40s, ?50s and ?60s may also be used. Typically, appropriate music on CD is provided during our occasional breaks. --- Recent gigs have included ?concert jazz?, for celebrations of the Queen?s Jubilee and the 150th anniversary of the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, ?dinner jazz? (background music) at the Landmark Hotel, the Lansdowne Club and the official opening of the Princess Diana Garden at Capel Manor and ?residencies? (on going gigs) at Bengal Blues restaurant and The Fox Club Mayfair. --- Although the CD features a trio and quintet, the number and types of instrumentalist for hire are up to you. The most requested trio is piano, double bass and sax, while for a quintet add drums and flugelhorn (mellow trumpet). I also perform in duet and solo. --- For any performance, every effort is made to ensure it meets the highest standard. If it happens that I am already booked for the time of your event, I would happily organise an ensemble of equal calibre and style. First-class references from recent commissions are available and the CD is free as a demo. |
